Fly Tyers Hear from Arkansas Game and Fish Commission Staff

Arkansas Game and Fish Commission staff members Captain Brian McKinzie and Mark Hutchings presented a program on Chronic Wasting Disease at the Fly Tyers February 9 meeting. Captain McKinzie is the Northwest Region Supervisor of Law Enforcement. Mark is the Northwest Regional Supervisor in Wildlife Management.

Their presentation detailed Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) which affects the deer and elk herds. The disease has been found in neighboring county deer herds. However, it has not been detected in Benton County.
The Bella Vista Fly Tyers Club is a fishing, conservation, and service Club consisting of approximately 150 members. The Club promotes fishing, lake, and recreational activities, and conducts service projects throughout NW Arkansas. The Club meets every Thursday morning beginning at 10 am at Riordan Hall in Bella Vista.
